Piper’s POV

His eyes widened, and his brow furrowed. He was quiet for a few moments before finally saying, “Megan, you still don’t understand me.”

Now it was my turn to widen my eyes. I stared into his eyes without blinking. My mind was working extra hard to digest what he had just said. “W-what do you mean? What don’t I understand? I did everything you asked. One thing you should know, I’ve never been this obedient to anyone but you. Ethan, my future fiancé, obeys me. So now tell me what I don’t understand?”

However, before Zac could answer, there was a knock on the door.

“Come in,” Zac replied as he put his cigarette into the ashtray.

As the door opened, two of his men entered. I only recognized one of them. He was a big man who usually stood at the door of the bar.

Zac’s bar wasn’t just any bar. It was a place where all transactions took place, such as prostitution, gambling, buying and selling drugs, and life and death transactions.
