Chapter 19. I’m Your Little Secret

Rufus’s POV

After my mind had been tortured at the idea of Freya getting back with Nathan, I felt like I couldn’t face her in the house tonight. As soon as I brought the girls home, I pulled on my overalls and went into the garage. Tinkering with my truck would alleviate some of my intrusive thoughts.

‘You know you can’t hide in here forever,’ Silver hissed in my mind ‘You’re already running away from Freya, the least you can do is spend some time with her tonight.’

‘I’m not running away from Freya,’ I grunted my reply to my wolf ‘I just need some time to myself,’ I paused ‘And that includes the annoying voice in my head.’

‘Well that’s just rude,’ Silver snorted ‘I know when I’m not wanted,’ he left my mind instantly, and as cruel I felt, I knew I needed the space.
