Chapter 10. Beautiful Man

Miatta's POV

Her hand was outstretched and her golden locks floated high above her head. Her legs were off the floor and she rode the air to meet me. Even Yvette was silent when she landed beside me, patting my fur softly.

I was angry at her but I could not move, her powers keeping me in place. She placed two fingers on my forehead and forced me to shift back to my human form, naked and wounded for my efforts. I was neither aware nor ashamed of my nakedness- we were animals before we were humans- but I was scared of the extent of her abilities.

It was no wonder her father had made her a slave. He was afraid of her because she was part wolf, part witch: a hybrid. He might have muted her wolf but she was still powerful from what I could see.

“So the stories are true.” Yvette affirmed when she could find her voice at last. “You are the abominable child, the child of death. I should have known your good act was too good to be true.”
