Chapter 59. Feelings Unleashed

The car was silent as we sat there, the tension between us pulled as tight as a bowstring.

My heart hammered against my ribcage, Alpha Sherman’s question about not divorcing hanging in the air between us.

I couldn’t bring myself to answer, too afraid of what my response might revealto him and to myself.

Without warning, Alpha Sherman’s hand shot out, cupping the back of my neck.

He pulled me toward him with gentle but firm pressure, closing the distance between us in one fluid motion.

His lips found mine in a kiss unlike any we’d shared before.

This wasn’t the playful, teasing kiss from our wedding.

This wasn’t the arrogant, possessive kiss he’d given me in front of others.

This was something raw and honest, deep with yearning.

His lips molded perfectly against mine, communicating everything he couldn’t say out loud.

His fingers tightened slightly at the back of my neck and pinned me to the spot.
