Mark almost fell on his behind at the sight of Seth. He wasn’t expecting anyone to be there, especially after he had ensured to look around before attending to Lalita. He tried to decipher the look on Seth’s face; the amusement in his eyes made Mark’s palpitating heart relax a bit.

Making his way towards him, Mark held a grin on his face. “Why wouldn’t you try minding your business and go to bed,” he said, walking past his cousin.

Seth chuckled to himself as he watched Mark think he was playing his game so well.

“Isn’t that the girl from the other day? Why is she here tonight?” he inquired.

“Nothing at all; she came by to get some bread, which is all finished,” Mark responded.

“If you want her, why don’t you do it the appropriate way rather than sneak around?”

Sighing, Mark shook his head. “I already told you, Seth, I have someone I am in love with at home. Why would I want to go after someone else?”

“That is exactly the question I intend to
