“First, what do you know about a fire wolf, Mufasa?” Wayne asked as Olive relaxed against him after sitting on his thigh.
“I have heard of a wolf made from fire, but it was discovered to be a myth crafted by a peasant farmer for his children’s bedtime story. The thought of a wolf made of flames that could burn them if it passed by and found them awake terrified them to sleep,” Mufasa explained. “The story was passed down to become a myth after a lot of parents figured out it got children to quickly fall asleep or, at least, stay quiet in bed for fear of the fire wolf passing by to see if they were awake. Those children grew up, and most of them retold the story to their own kids. And so the cycle went on until it became a prevailing myth.
