Olive laughed, then looked up at her young brother-in-law. “Hi, Shem. Nice to see you again. You look way bigger and finer, dude. What have you been doing?”

She hadn’t actually spoken with him or even really seen him since she arrived. He had been in his wolf form, fighting the night she and her guards showed up, and he hadn’t shifted back before she took Wayne up to their quarters.

Shem shot her a smile. “I’ve been fine. Just being handsome as usual. But what I did most was miss your presence—especially during the times that loaf by your side gave us slices of hell each day for sandwiches.”

Then he and Crusoe explained everything Wayne had actually gone through and how he had almost dragged them all down to Hades. Olive was horror-struck and dumbfounded by the revelation. She never knew it was that bad. He had completely lost his mind!
