“She’s trying to kill me,” Wayne whispered to himself as he stared at the destruction, his eyes wide open. Far off, Olive chuckled without looking back at him. She had crossed to the other side of the field, near what used to be the entrance. Right there, she shifted into her magnificent, grey she-wolf beauty.

‘Come on, let’s move,’ she mind-linked him.

Wayne exhaled and shifted into Fervor. He tore through the destroyed land and was soon running side by side with his mate. But they didn’t race for long. Jake had arrived with a new van.

“Beautiful morning considering the crap you both caused last night, isn’t it?” was his first greeting. He wore a not-so-friendly smile as he approached them carrying two white shopping bags.
