“What?” came Dolly’s voice, broken and crestfallen. Everyone looked at her, surprised by the sudden shift in mood. She stood up, her eyes welling with tears.

“You are from The Vrek Cult?” she asked, and Olive blinked.

“Was from The Vrek Cult,” Wayne corrected in a firm tone, making it clear she didn’t have the right to judge his mate because of her past. Dolly’s eyes snapped to Wayne, glaring at him. Her eyes were moist and red by now.

“Wayne, you know what they did. You know what her people did,” she pointed at Olive, who sat there looking utterly confused. What did The Vrek Cult do this time? Because they had done a lot.

“Dolly, calm down,” Jake said quietly, but she shot him a dangerous glare, and he sat still.

“Olive, were you among them?” she asked.
