Chapter 31. Their Plan

Anastasia's POV

Amelia stops near the stables, and I hide behind the building housing the barn, a few meters from the stable. I can hear Amelia's altered breathing and Gev's voice clearly.

"You are useless. I won't pay what I promised, you didn't do as agreed!" Amelia declares with a voice filled with irritation and anger. "You are as stupid as a horse, Genevive!"

"Sorry, Miss Amelia, but I did what you asked. I served the tea to her. It's not my fault if she didn't drink anything all day!" Gev responds with a voice laden with remorse and fear.

"It is your fault. Did you put the potion I sent?" Amelia questions irritably.

"Of course, Miss. I put it and stirred it, just as you instructed. There was nothing wrong with the tea, she just didn't drink it."

A wave of relief and shock runs through my body upon discovering Amelia's true plan against me. Zahir wa
