Lucien laid a hand on Daciana's forehead as she lay there unmoving on the bed.
His forehead creased worry as guilt ate at him for not listening to his instincts of going to her.
He was tempted to beat Jamirez for disheartening him when he wanted to go to her.
He stood up as he paced, every step heavy with guilt.
Lucien stood at the foot of the bed, gazing down at Daciana's still form. Her chest rose and fell in shallow breaths, and her face was a mask of pain.
