After her mother disappeared, Daciana stood frozen in place for what felt like an eternity.

She remembered the way her mother would make her favorite meals, and the way she would always know exactly what to say when Daciana was feeling down.
But she also remembered the day her mother got sick and the way she slowly deteriorated.
