Chapter 37
Killian paced the length of the council chamber, his eyes dark with frustration. He had called this meeting to discuss their progress in the mission against the lycan kingdom, but so far, all he had heard were complaints and objections.
"The witch cannot be trusted," one council member declared, his voice sharp. "We should not be relying on her to win this war."
Killian shot him a withering glance. "I have already made my decision, and I stand by it. Sara pledged her loyalty to the throne, and I believe that she will deliver."
Another council member shook his head. "But she is a witch, your majesty. She is not to be trusted. Who knows what she might do?"
Killian glared at him. "I am aware of the risks, but I have no choice. Our army is depleted, and our resources are stretched thin. We need Sara's help, whether we like it or not."
The council members muttered amongst themselves, but Killian ignored
