Lucien could feel Daciana's anger pulsing through her body as he held her tightly. He knew she was on the edge, her wolf clawing at the surface, demanding retribution.

He tried to calm her, whispering soft words of reassurance into her ear, but it was no use.

Daciana thrashed in his hold, her eyes blazing with fury. "Let me go, Lucien," she growled, her voice thick with emotion. "I have to deal with her."

Lucien tightened his grip on her, holding her firm. "No, Daciana," he said firmly. "She will be punished."

Daciana shook her head, her hair flying wild around her face. "I know what I heard," she said, her voice rising. "And I know what she did to that little girl."

Lucien tried not to smile at the protective way Daciana tried to protect the pack.

He tried not to feel happy and focused on calming her.
