Chapter 98. One Wonderful Day

“You’re what?” I asked, my pen falling from my fingers and down to my desk.

Leon, stood in front of me, the same stoic expression on his face. “I am resigning your highness.”

Hearing those words again felt like a brick had landed on top of my head. I could not comprehend, rather, I chose not to accept his words. I had a lot of questions. Where was this coming from? Why all of a sudden?

I held my head, trying to steady my thoughts. Leon slid an envelope in front of me and I picked it up slowly, with shaky hands. I tore it open, taking the letter out. I read through it briefly and rage crashed on me. I raised the letter up and tore it into two.

“This has to be some kind of joke Leon. Why exactly are you resigning, out of the blue, without giving me any notice prior. I won’t accept this without a definite reason!” I yelled, slamming my hand on the desk.
