Chapter 19. The Return of Kevin March
The few wolves outside had bundled up near the door, fighting to peek inside. Then as she emerged from the hall and walked out, they took their time staring, some even snickering while she passed them by. At the very least, they kept their distance.
“I must be a bad luck magnet.” Sarah grumbled as she slid down the wall, her head tilted back and her legs drawn together.
Somehow, she felt both embarrassed and humiliated. Getting chased out of her own introduction party must’ve been a good show.
Sarah sat in place and listened to the distant voices inside, though unable to make out what they were saying. Minutes passed by, and when her legs begun to cramp, her patience slowly wore thin. She couldn’t help but think that he might’ve forgotten that he left her outside… in the dark and alone.
Sighing, she lifted her head, looking at the door. People were finally starting to file out little by little but Damon was nowhere to be seen. She got to her feet with a groan
