The next day started with a devastating realization. Sarah’s ‘heat’, as Doctor Neko had called it, was gone but what became of it, was a night she couldn’t erase. Nor forget.

Sarah lifted her head slowly, her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the man lying under her, his broad chest her source of warmth for the night that’d just gone by. Damon was naked from head to toe, tousled hair across the pillow and his arms locked tight around her waist. She was no different, naked and disheveled atop his chest.
