Chapter 105. Rejection
~3RD PERSON'S POV~
“So, what now? Are we supposed to wait for them?” Gabriella asked Steven with a whisper. He turned to her, then turned back to the three girls.
“We shouldn’t disturb the process. Let’s just wait and see what happens,” he replied.
From his voice, Gabriella could tell he was also unsure of what to do. They both watched the girls glow brightly for a few minutes, their hairs flowing around like a heavy wind blew from underneath them. After a while, Marie spoke.
“My last moments of sanity are near; my mind is going blurry, and I have begun to forget important things in my life. The information on this page is one I have been told not to reveal to anyone, but alas, it is too heavy for my heart alone to carry.
When the old woman arrived at my gates, she gave instructions that would set the stage for an event I did not understand at first: a watcher, one who would stand before the doors until the day their purpose was revealed.
