Derren and Steven arrived at the Mortimer mansion a while later. The warrior wolves opened up the gates, and Derren drove in.

“How could we have let this happen? I should never have left her by herself,” Derren said worriedly, with fear and concern in his eyes. He parked the car, and they both got off.

“Derren, you shouldn't worry yourself too much. Maria is with Lunaris; I'm sure she won't let anything bad happen to her,” Steven said with a reassuring tone in an attempt to calm Derren down.

Derren was about to reply when Lunaris's voice sounded. “Hey boys, welcome home.”

Derren and Steven turned in her direction and saw her standing a short distance from the parking spot in her bright-grey dress. She had a soft smile on her face and a small crown on her head, laced with white gems that sparkled under the moonlight.
