Chapter 260. Deep Down

Steven and Evelyn stood side by side, deep in the forest that spread around from behind the Mortimer mansion. They were surrounded by family members, warrior wolves, and some other people they couldn't recognize at all. They all wore black suits and dresses, standing in front of a tombstone with grim expressions on their faces.

Steven's face was blank, as always. He hardly felt any sadness in his heart, even if it was his own mother in the grave—it was either that or he just didn't want anyone to see him sad.

One by one, everyone started to vanish. The people that gathered for the burial became fewer and fewer until only Steven and one of the warrior wolves remained—Myrid Storm Heart, Gregory's mother.
