Chapter 259. Flaming Mask

~3RD PERSON'S POV~

Mary sat quietly in one of Anaya's many private jets. With a blank expression on her face, she stared through the window at all the large clouds suspended in the sky. She had spaced out completely, and all the sounds around her became almost non-existent. 

The memory of her parents attacking her returned to her mind again and again, causing her to feel three distinct emotions: happiness because she saw her parents again, sadness because she wasn't able to get through to them, and anger because they were being held captive by someone whom she considered a friend many years ago.

As she stared at a bird flying by, she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. She quickly jolted out of her reverie and turned to face the person who touched her.

“Oh, Melody. Umm… can… can I help you?” Mary asked softly.

“Actually, I just thought I'd check on you. Are you doing alright?” Melody replied with a concerned tone.

“Oh, I'm fine,” Mary answered
