Esmeralda Pov

Mikel and I were enjoying our dance together. Although I was a terrible student, he was patient with me, he held me with my footing and even made jokes about it. There was nothing that could compare to how good i felt when I heard the sound of his laughter, it felt really good knowing I was the one that made him laugh.

A woman walked up to him and he excused himself as she whispered something into his ears. He returned to where I was standing waiting for him with a small smile on his face.

"Something came up, I'll have to go check on it. I'll be back" he walked away from me. 

However, as he was walking away, I felt something pull on my dress making me to trip and at that same time, the lights went off. They had been flickering for a while but I was too busy enjoying my moment with Mikel.
