Curtis's POV
The bleak truth was revealed by her words. Because I did not need another blasted mate, I pushed my damn wolf back when I felt him speaking with me. Needless to say, one that was human and exiled from the werewolf kingdom. Resisting the sparks and the tug of the mate bond, I pushed her off gently. Taking the hint, she stepped back with scrutiny.
“We are nothing,” I spat out, thinking that she was nothing special. “Do not expect anything of me.”
