Raina’s POV

Turco’s gaze locked on me, and my blood chilled.
“Would you be a dear, Raina, and fill it with your blood?” he said menacingly, not really asking.
“What? No. Why?” My voice cracked.
“According to the old woman, your blood activates it.” His voice changed to a snarl, “Do it now!”
My thoughts spiraled, panic swelling. I can’t let him take my blood. Not when I didn’t know what hell I was activating. Yet the stone kept beckoning me, not with whispering but with that annoying pull.
Venus and Azara hesitated. They swung their gaze from him to me, filled with dread and questioning our next move. Their eyes mirrored my fear.
