Valen’s POV
An ambivalence of emotions assaulted me the second my boots hit the shore.
“Arrange their coffins,” Zeus roared so savagely that my ribs hurt. “Stop pretending you can't hear me before I claw your skull out, Valen. Grrr.”
‘I’m attending to our mate, Zeus,’ I bit back, and he toned down with some understanding, though he continued to express his displeasure in low, rumbling growls.
My wolf had to understand that at that moment, nothing mattered but her.
Raina’s hands clung to my neck tightly as I carried her away from the submarine. Her pale cheeks pressed slightly against my pectoral as I kept her in my arms.
I knew she didn't want me to let her go. Neither did I, but at the same time, I wanted to unleash hell.
