Raina’s POV 

I blinked up, getting snared by his mesmerizing emeralds.

Valen bent over me with his broad shoulders, trapping me under his towering, bulky frame. Suddenly, the couch felt like a cage, and I wondered if this was about me wanting him to stop pursuing the man involved with Jiya.

He breathed hard through his nose, his eyes fixed on me. The aggressive black of his beast slowly swallowed the emerald in his eyes, until nothing remained but his predatory stare. 

“You think I was upset in there because I was jealous over some man?” he asked, his voice low enough to rattle the living room. 

I opened my mouth to sass him, but he crashed his lips on mine, and my brain packed up my thoughts and left.
