Chapter 94. Cleo's Heat (3)

Cleo’s POV

My eyes remained shut as the heavy lids caged them in darkness. When the heat began, fire blazed through my veins, eating at my skin. My body shook like an interplate earthquake. Though the medication reduced the scorching, there was a mild residue of charring.

The part about this that I loathed was the man lying next to me. Beyond a doubt, he was here to get laid because the irrefutable attraction heightened tonight. I desired him and vice versa. The rational side of me knew that I’d regret having sex with him. Contrastingly, my wolf’s side declared to hell with self-control and to surrender to the natural course of the heat.

Minute by minute, the fire grows, building in my core and then unrolling into my limbs like a slicing sword. Unstoppable whimpers unfurled through my lips as the pain hacks my body apart. Blayne turns on his side and wraps his arms around me, before rubbing all over my body.
