Chapter 24
Home Is Where the Heart Is
Upon arriving home, the first thing I do is call Tina, my cousin.
“Hey, I know you haven’t heard from me in years, but I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner tonight, say 6?
I have something I want to speak to you about.” I say mysteriously before I continue. “Well, I must go. I will be there at 6 and not a minute later.” I state before ending the call.
Sighing, I realize that I must start practicing. Tomorrow, we have a rehearsal, and I didn’t pick up my violin once the whole time we were gone. I know I should have, but every time I went to play, Sam would come up behind me and kiss my neck.
Forcing myself to stop thinking about it, I open my violin case and then spend the next several hours practicing. By the time I’m done marking up the music and deciding the bowings, I am too tired to do anything else. Hearing Sam come up behind me, I swallo
