Chapter 31

It took over an hour to get all the paperwork done. It would have been more if there were financing, trade-ins, and other matters to take care of. As it was, we had none of that. I wrote a check for the vehicle plus the taxes. I told her to take a picture of her new car to show the others.

I reminded Lily that she'd have to get Oregon plates on it when she got home. They kept her vehicle overnight to detail it, but I had no problem coming back tomorrow to pick it up. For that matter, I could send Lily with Phillip if I needed to. He was off tomorrow.

"When do you think you'll go home?" I asked.

"I was thinking Monday if that wouldn't be a problem."

"Not for me. Is your father happy with his company's legal representation?"

"I don't know."

"Could you find out before Monday? I have some business to conduct with a law firm up here, and I'm looking for leverage."
