“What are you saying Max?” I asked starring at him.

“It’s nothing, forget I said that?” he said turning to leave but I held him back.

“You started this conversation and so you need to end it, tell me why you had to leave years ago, tell me the real reason,” I asked.

“For what? It wouldn’t change anything, it’s been sixteen years and I’m now married and you have a life with your daughter and Jack, so let’s just…”

“Damn it Max, I have a right to know! You owe me that, so stop beating around the bush and tell me why you left me years ago,” I said.

“You know me Max, you know I can be very persuasive when I want something,” I said and finally he gave up and taking my hand, he walked me to the living room and sat me down on the luxurious sofa he picked recently for the interior design of the house.
