Chapter 23

A deep sigh passed my lips as I continued staring at the wide, open sea. It was already dusk, but I didn't mind the heat.

It has been a week since Jayden abducted me and brought me to this island, but since then, I haven't been able to find a way to escape this place. I tried looking for my cellphone with no luck, making me think that maybe my phone is not on this island at all.

I couldn't help, but get worried when I realized that I was almost at the end of my supposed vacation leave, but then I remembered that I shouldn't have to worry about it since Jayden promised that he would take care of my leave of absence, which wouldn't be a problem, considering that he now owns the bank I was working with.

Ever since Jayden caught me trying to use his phone, he changed, he became cold and aloof, and it felt like he was trying to keep his distance from me for some reason, and there goes the feeling that I betrayed him.
