"You could do better with your choice of words, you know." He says, he can not hide the hurt in his voice.

She does not care less.

 "You did not call for a class on semantics, did you?" She obviously does not want to speak to him. She rarely shows up at the office and barely visits the operating rooms or various health sections in R&E. 

How would he pass on R&E legacy to someone who appears to have no interest in it. 

"I did not. You only remember your old man whenever you are in trouble or one of your cards decline at the store. I decided to check in and keep the connection alive." He says this and rubs at his forehead with his hand. Emily sighs again. 

He is beginning to think that just maybe he is the cause of her irritation. He hopes he is wrong.
