Chapter 452
The change started again, so excruciatingly slow, yet my body did seem to be remembering what it needed to do. It still took forever, a forever of feeling my body tear itself apart, and put itself back together again. Finally, I was a wolf. I raised my muzzle and howled at the moon, joined by a full chorus. As a group, Gerhard, Flint Spear and Rene leading the way, we headed deep into the woods. We ran about a half hour, and must have gone ten miles. I wasn’t breathing hard, wasn’t sore, a little hungry, a little thirsty, but good.
Rene stopped in a clearing with two trees in the middle of it. I smelled blood, lots of blood. I looked up, and beheld a torso fastened to each tree. Just a torso, no arms, no legs. They were alive. I could hear their groans and whimpers. The others shifted, so I did too. More agonizing pain, until I stood naked and looked up at Vasilly. In addition to being void of his limbs, he also lacked his manhood. So did Salvatore.
