Chapter 36. New Allies

MORGANA’S POV

As I sit in the Alpha’s bed contemplating my next move, the door slowly opens and a guard walks in with a girl. A girl with a face I remember all too well. The girl who was punished naked in front of an entire crowd. The girl who gave me half of her food and saved me from starving.

The girl whose name I remember to be Chloe. The guard walks back out with no explanation and leaves the girl in the room with me. We stare at each other in confusion at first, then the girl smiles widely and rushes towards me.

“Chloe?” I say as I slowly approach her. My ribs still hurt when I move around too much. “What are you doing here?”

I ask the petite girl standing in front of me. She looks extremely better than the last time I saw her. Her skin has more color to it and her hair looks longer and brighter. There is no scar in sight on her skin and her she’s in clean clothes.

These are the advantages of the beta being away for a while. I’m sure life has been
