Chapter 19

Mark’s POV

I was in the living room with my phone pressed against my right ear. 

The one I was calling eventually answered her call after trying countless times.

“Emily—”

“I told you not to call me again ”

“I’m sorry about how I reacted when you told me the news”

“The news?” She snorted, “Mark, what are you talking about?”

“The pregnancy, our pregnancy”

“You now refer to it as ‘our pregnancy ’?” She paused, “What changed?”

I swallowed hard and looked down in embarrassment even though she wasn't there.

“I guess I was taken aback a little bit. You know the nature of our relationship”

“I heard your grandfather's Will has been pronounced. Is that why you want my baby and me?”

“Nooo—not at all. I just want to do the right thing” 

“The right thing, huh?”

“You know what, why don't we sit and talk about our future” I smiled.

“No. I don't want to see you” She ended the call.
