Chapter 66. Couldn’t Bear II

At the penthouse.

As I stood in front of the fancy penthouse door, I hesitated before going inside. After a tiring day at the cafe, I really didn't want to deal with what awaited me there. I hoped he wasn't home yet. My plan was to hide in my room until he left the next morning, repeating this every day until he eventually caught me. The only question was when that would happen.

Quietly, I stepped into the penthouse and looked around the living room. No sign of him, and he wasn't in the kitchen either. The whole place was quiet, and even Mary aunty had left. It was a relief to see that he wasn't here yet. Thank goodness! It was only 7:30 p.m., so it was unlikely he would show up at this time.
