Chapter 22. Anxiety

Natalie screamed hysterically alone in her room. The belief in her honesty and innocence simply crumbled and shattered.

Tears finally fell down her cheeks. She never thought that Dante’s suspicions were true. She was the one who had been thinking too simply.

“How could this be?” she muttered hoarsely. She had always thought Lucas sold her for money and that Dante was the one who was too paranoid to suspect him. However, she was wrong. Lucas had another purpose. And his purpose was anything but simple.

That’s right. It was Lucas, wasn’t it? That man was the mastermind behind it all, right?

Her gaze went blank. How worthless was she that others just wanted to use her?

Natalie’s legs went limp. She struggled to put on her nightgown before collapsing to the floor. Suddenly, Lizzy knocked loudly on her bedroom door.

“Miss, are you okay?!” the girl shouted. She was worried because she heard Natalie’s hysterical screams.
