Chapter 24. Dinner
The crowded dinner Dante was referring to was an executive dinner attended by many upper-middle-class corporate executives in New York. Some even came from out of state.
When Natalie first entered the venue, she couldn’t help but gulp. She stopped her steps and gripped Dante’s arm firmly. “Are you out of your mind? What if they recognize me?” she whispered worriedly.
Dante chuckled. “They’re busy people. You think they’ll care about you?”
That answer slapped Natalie a little. Dante certainly wasn’t going to take any chances that cost him. So, she didn’t have to worry about that at all.
Finally, she let Dante lead her toward the other guests. Alex followed them with his bag, ready in case Dante needed his help.
“Dante!” Someone suddenly approached them. It was Charles, a man Natalie already knew. The middle-aged man was also present there.
Dante smiled. “You seem very excited,” he said.
“Of course I am.” Charles chuckled, then turned to look
