Chapter 49. Sky’s Disappointment
Rachel swallowed hard. Her feet shifted backward instinctively.
“Why would I think that? That’s ridiculous.”
“Relax. I won’t take Sky away from you. Tomorrow morning, I’ll leave this place.”
Rachel suddenly froze. She looked at Edmund with uncertainty.
“Y-you’re leaving already?”
Her voice dropped.
The corners of Edmund’s lips curved into something sad.
Deep down, he had hoped Rachel would stop him. But he could see it clearly now—she wanted the opposite. Their relationship was no longer what it once was. They were no longer two people bound by love and closeness.
