“You…” Edmund pointed at Lucas, who was lying on the ground. “I’ve been trying not to hurt you, but you keep testing my patience. I don’t want to be rude in front of Rachel and Sky.”

Lucas glared at him, still furious. Edmund put his hands on his hips and took a sharp breath.

“Come to your senses, Mr. Palmer. Rachel and Sky love you very much. They don’t want to be separated from you. You should respect that.”

After a pause, his tone softened.

“Don’t entertain such thoughts. They’ll only ruin your happiness. Learn from my experience. I lost the person I loved most because of my stupidity. Don’t repeat my mistake. Trust your wife.”
