Chapter 36. The Window

Elona's POV

I left Tristan's house not long after I had seen that ultrasound picture. There was nothing for me to do there, just being by myself. I sat at my desk in the corner of my bedroom and I just scrolled through my phone. There was no text from Tristan. I could've gone to check up on Spooky too, but I was already at home and I didn't feel like going over there. That house just gives me the creeps.

I sent Tristan a text.

Me: I'm at home. I hope that things are okay at work. I love you.

I just couldn't believe I had said that. It felt too soon to say that, but we knew each other for a long time. So it shouldn't matter.

My phone chimed and it was him.

Crane: Things will be better. I love you more.
