“Mama!” Riley and Rowan didn’t even wait for me to get to the car before screaming and running to me. They engulfed me in a tight hug.
I laughed as I looked at Amanda who was running behind them. She wanted to make sure that they were both safe. They insisted on picking me up at the airport.
“Oh my babies, I’ve missed you so much,” I said as I wrapped my hands over their tiny shoulders. “How have you guys been?”
“I missed you, mama,” Riley said as she clung tightly to my waist. “We’ve been good.” She added, her voice soft.
Rowan chimed into the conversation. “I missed you more, mama. I’m glad you’re back.”
I felt so happy. I was glad to see my children after one week. I had never been separated from them for so long before.
They released themselves from my body after a long hug. Then I turned over to Amanda who was staring
