Chapter 15. Lunch

I knew what I said to Alex was very hurtful but I was driven by anger. I didn’t know when it left my mouth. I could see the hurt in his eyes, so I couldn’t look at him any longer.
I had to leave the room because even if he deserved everything I said to him. I was overwhelmed with everything.
My head was still aching so I went downstairs to get a glass of water. I knew water wasn’t going to make the pains stop but it would make me feel a little bit better.
As I got downstairs, I met the cook preparing breakfast in the kitchen. The smell of the freshly made pancakes and fried chicken filled the air.
My stomach growled in response to the aroma of the food.
