I tapped my fingers impatiently against the table as I waited for Caroline to arrive. According to her, she was only five minutes away.

She said that over thirty minutes ago.

Jason was kind of sad because he felt alone and didn’t have anybody to play with, so Caroline took him out to the park to cheer him up.

But something urgent came up and I needed her to come back to the house. I had been waiting for her for what felt like forever.

I called her phone again but she didn’t respond. Just as I was about to storm out to find her, I heard someone open the front door.
