“I don’t want to lose you.” He replied, his voice dripped with determination.

I wasn’t expecting Alexander to say something like that to me. Where was it coming from? I opened my mouth to speak but I was at a loss for words. “H…huh? What? How? Wh…what do you mean?” I stuttered as I tried to form a coherent sentence.

“Olivia, please wait for me. I can’t stand seeing you with someone else.” Alexander pleaded, his eyes mirroring his desperation.

The only conversation we were supposed to have was about his father’s arrest and my father’s death. Why was he talking about my seeing someone else?

“I’m confused, what are you talking about?” I asked, my eyes locked onto his.

Alexander reached out for my hands and I didn’t hesitate. “It’s just a few months left. Just wait for me, we can be together. We can start afresh. I love you, Olivia.”
