I had tried calling Riley earlier when I saw her calls but she did not respond. Initially, I felt she was upset because she felt I was ignoring her, but I chose to believe that she was asleep.

I was washing my face in the bathroom when I heard my phone ringing. I had been expecting Riley’s call, so I rushed outside to take my phone.

As I saw Riley’s name flashing across the screen, I let out a relieved sigh. “Hey.” She greeted me with a low voice.

I apologized for missing her call and told her about how I tried calling but she didn’t respond. Surprisingly, she was not upset and was okay with it.
