My brows knitted into a frown. “What do you mean? Maya isn’t a stranger.” My tone turned defensive.
Alexander stood up from his chair, annoyed he continued. “I spent the whole day with you today and you didn’t think to say anything. I spent time with you at the hospital and you still lied to me.”
I could hear the disappointment in his voice. I didn’t blame him for reacting that way. I would have done the same if I was in his shoes.
“I’m sorry.” An apology tumbled out of my mouth. “I wanted to talk to you about it, I wanted to tell you but I didn’t have the courage to do so.”
Alexander snorted. “Of course, you wouldn’t have the courage to tell me because you’ve been running around with him all this while.”

Alexander cut me off before I could complete my sentence. “I was busy making arrangements for you to move back
