Chapter 9
Eternity’s POV
It’s late at night, and I’m missing Aaron utterly. I’m not sure why, God, but I’m missing him so much.
I feel sorry for him after today’s incident.
I hear a car’s echoes. Aaron enters the home a few minutes later. Over the couch, I’m drumming my fingers.
During this, he removes his tie and unbuttons his shirt. He gives me a sidelong glance.
I instantly avert my gaze. My cheeks begin to flush. I take a few steps back and look around, but I can’t seem to keep my gaze on him.
He walks up the stairs and into his room.
I reach for the dining room and turn to see him approaching. At the table, he sits in a head chair.
After that, Amy and the other maids arrive and begin serving our meal.
We’re both silent; he doesn’t say anything to me. But I want to talk to him and ask him how his day was, but I know he won’t want to talk to me.
I press my lips together, embarrassed to be around him.
