Chapter 155. Salvation is Here

Maureen's POV

I walked into the house blindly and absent-minded. Indeed I had seen Talon, my father. It sounded so surreal. He was alive, even if he was on the brink of death. 

Even in my troubled state, I had not forgotten to pull at the chain for the golden wolf soldiers to return to their homes. 

'Maureen, where are the others?' Dawn ran to me looking worried. 

'Water.' That was all I could say and she quickly ran off to get a cup of water. I sat on the couch and waited for her. 

Dawn brought back the water and I drank the glass all in one gulp. My mind was a jumbled-up space for different emotions. Sorting them was going to take time. 

'What is the problem Maureen, you don't look good. Besides, your clothes and shoes are all wet, wolf except for your hair,' Dawn said. 

I raised my hand and touched my hair. Indeed it was not wet. That surprised me. I was in the rain with everyone when it rained the first time.
