I stood rooted to the spot as my wolf growled 'Mate,' at the female kneeling in front of Maureen. Was I finally getting help?

I had suddenly felt energized when the noise in the corridor started. After Maureen and Lance left to see what was going on, I felt a sudden overwhelming feeling to stand up and go with them.
